1st metatarsal pain
after falling down the stairs, I have a lot of pain on the inside of my left foot and along the top.
My family Dr just called and said the x-rays do not show a fracture but show a 1st Metarsal sprain.
He told me that time will heal it.
Every day it hurts worse.
What is a 1st Metatarsal sprain?
I can’t find any information anywhere.
The injury occurred 2 1/2 weeks ago.

As a rule, x-rays show bone and not soft tissue. Ultrasound and MRIs show soft tissue. I am not sure what you doctor was describing. I recommend you see a podiatrist for further evaluation and recommendation.
