2nd rupture of achilles and walking
Hi,
Last July, I ruptured my achilles tendon playing softball, had surgery and casted for 6 weeks, 6 days after cast came off I re- ruptured,no surgery, just casted again for 4 weeks and then I got the boot cast after that for 2 months.
I have been to physio etc and my ROM is great but my walking seems to be getting worse. I find that I am curling my second toe etc in order to walk and I limp more now. Will I walk again normally? Do toes really have such an importance when you walk? Help..
I want to walk a straight again! Thanx

From your description, my guess is that your Achilles tendonitis has affected the Plantar fascia as well.Without an examination and history, I would not expect the most likely cause to be systemic. Certainly your shoes can be a contributing factor. See if putting at least a 1/2" heel lift in your shoes helps. Try using rest, ice and even men's support hose. If you can take an anti-inflammatory, try that as well. If nothing helps, then see a podiatrist or orthopedist.
