4 1/2 year old feet turn in.

My 4 1/2 year olds feet turn in. Left is worse then right and both Dr. and a specialist have said it would get better as she got to be 4 to 5 years old. But it really hasn’t or if so, it’s not much better. It is noticeable and she will sometime trip over her left foot when not paying attention. They have found nothing wrong with the structure of her legs, but we are concerned that the muscles will continue to develop turned in. When she stands, the feet are just fine, but it’s only when she walks or runs. Do you have any suggestions on where to go from here or exercises that could be done? We are going to talk to a chiropractor and also a physical therapist.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Mark

Mark, my daughter always seemed to have one foot turn in and the doctors never thought much of it. She is 13 now and just had knee surgery due to an injury. It got worse about 1 month before the injury. While in surgery the found that her knee cap wasn’t in the right place. After surgery and rehab, her foot doesn’t turn as much as it used to. The PT said it probably had something to do with things being misaligned. After researching alot about knees I found it can cause the foot to turn in some. It is worth seeing a pediatric orthopedic if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease.
