Accessory Navicular removal

I was just wondering if you knew the typical recovery time for removal of the accessory navicular, and what recovery entailed (as in, will I be able to walk during that recovery time?). I recently fractured it and immobilization doesn’t seem to be helping it heal so far.
It’s looking more and more like removing it is going to be my best option.

I had my toenails on my big toe removed several years ago after years of ingrown toenail pain. My toes look otherwise “normal” other than that there is no toenail on it. The size and shape of toe is normal in appearance. Being the girly girl that I am I miss painted toenails but I sure don’t miss the pain!

Apparently Dr. Abrams did not appreciate my sense of humor as she told me to ask my own Doctor.”MY DOCTOR” is an HMO Doctor that it took me 6 weeks to get into for an initial appointment, and then I was scheduled for the procedure 2 months later.Had I put a phone call into “MY DOCTOR” I would probably be all healed up before he returned the call. So I appreciate your input. I thought the name of this forum was “Ask the Podiatrist.”Apparently the real name of the forum is Funny you mention about painting your toenails because my darling 13 year old daughter said,”Don’t worry daddy, when your toes are all healed up I will paint them with nail polish and make it look like you have a toenail.””Ah honey that is so sweet, but, ah, NO YOU WON’T !”Then of course my wife had to get into the act about how she would hold me down so my daughter could paint my toes.Or that they would wait until I was asleep and paint them.My wife said,”Well you stumble around here half in a daze asking where you left the remote, the potato chips, your wallet, your keys, all the time screaming my name “DIANNNNNNA!” If you’re going to act like Ozzie Osbourne we might as well put nail polish on you and make you look the part too.”Yeah, like I look like Ozzie Osbourne! ??? I’m a former cop with a Ph.D. in Criminal Psychology and I’m bald.
