achilles tendon

Hi I’m having problems with my achilles, possible tendonitis. It is stiff in the mornings when I wake up, sore (all day) when I touch it and “tender” when I play tennis. I have rested it for a few weeks. My question is when do you start rehabilitation exercises for it (how do I know that it is ready for stretching and strength training? How long do you need to rest it?

  1. Your tendon is very imflammed, put a small heel wedge in your shoe to take the tension off the tendon for healing. Don’t run or jump for now. Give it a rest. Limit your walking. Go to a PT, especially on that knows kenisio taping. Good luck,Mary
