achillies tendon tear

I hurt myself at work and have gone through extensive physical therapy to get it back to its normal function, but it was not successful.
I was even put in a stabilizing boot for a month with no success.
This accident happened in June and my most recent physical therapy irritated it even more.
My orthopedist says that a month of rest with a cast is the only solution now.
I don’t know if I can take a month off from work or that my director who is not understanding would tolerate it.
I don’t know what else to do, but I can not continue with this pain either.Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated
