Acromioclavicular separation

(2 discussions)

Recently I was selected to play for a women’s pro football team. However, I suffered an acromioclavicular separation in August of 2011. Do you think I can play the position of Wide Receiver with the aid of braces and special pads?

YesI don’t think there will be a need for braces or pads. Just start doing shoulder exercises at the gym. Military press, shrugs, upright rows are the basic ones you should do. I suffered a level 3 separation in 01 and I just work out and it hasn’t botherd me since

I seperated my shoulder in a martial arts class in Jan 07, and it is still bothering me. I am considering surgery, but the doctor said it was only a class 1 seperation. I want to get back into training, but when I try, it starts to hurt more. If I have the surgery, will it be 100% or is it likely to be something I have to live with, and can it get worse the more I train, or will it strengthen with time? Thanks, Ian
