AM I ALLERGIC TO CORTIZONE?

I injured my elbow in Dec. 2011 but sought no treatment. By Feb. 2012 it had become unbearable.
I was disagnosed with tennis elbow and the condition has become chronic.
I get flare ups regularly.
I have had 5 sets of injections in the joint (2 shots each time) and am now in another flare up in immense pain. Each time I have had cortizone injections, within 24 to 48 hours I get a metallic taste in my mouth, turn bright red and experience severe swelling all over.
I am extremely hot and my blood pressure goes extremely high.
This usually lasts about 8 to 12 hours and I feel ill for a few days after.
I take blood pressure medication and my doctors (I have been to several) know about this. They tell me to take Benedryl and if the symptoms get too severe to go to the ER.
Should I be wary of cortizone? I am about to go to a larger city for treatment because my insurance limits doctors in my area and I cannot seem to get anyone locally to help solve this situation.
Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
