Ankle Ache

My right ankle has suddenly started to ache (light throbbing) on the front. I felt it come on after a very short and easy run. Its been over a week now and I still feel this ache. Is it serious? There is no swelling, bruising or pain so can I assume its nothing to worry about?

A person can do this, sometimes w/o even realizing it, by stepping on uneven ground, or a small hole. It isn’t until later, that the pain and swelling set in. Since it had already been a week, you can try using warm water soaks (20 minutes at a time; three times daily), and some heel cord stretching afterwards. Then, after the soaks and strething, wrap (ACE bandage) and elevate the ankle (above the level of your heart), for 15 minutes to help get rid of any remaining swelling. Do this for a few days, and you should see results. If not, then it is time to be evaluated by a doctor or PT. Good luck!
