ankle exercises

I suffered a major break in february 08, broken tibia, fibula, and ankle. I had surgery and have a metal rod going from ankle to knee now with screws along it etc. I have been walking for a month or more and I still can’t get rid of this limp. I do stretches and basic exercises but even searching the internet I have not been able to come across any clear cut directions on good exercises to rehab an ankle. I know its going to hurt, but with no medical insurance I have no choice but to do it on my own. any exercises will help. thank you

Chris,You really should be seen by a licensed therapist to evaluate your gait for any dysfunctions. Even your orthopedic surgeon should have a someone on staff (ATC, PT or PA that could possibly give you some insight or a treatment program).
