Ankle shooting pain & swelling

I have swelling in both ankles on the insides of both, the right one is worse but if I walk more than an hour or so I have to sit down.
There is shooting pain in the right ankle, feels like a match burning. I could have twisted one, but 2 I would have remembered and I don’t. The swelling is incredibly bad.
I had this before about 1 year ago and it took about 6 months to go away.
Now it’s back and worse. What the heck is it?

There are a number of pieces of the puzzle that are missing. A comprehensive history and examination would be in order. Tests such as X rays, MRI, or a bone scanmight be indicated based on your clinical findings. I recommend you get examined by a podiatrist or orthopedist. Good luck. Vivian A DPM
