Archilles Tendon Problems

Hello,
I would like some advice on my right archilles tendon. I was playing hockey and tore my archilles tendon, two years from today. I had an operation and wore a cast for six months. Till today I can’t fit into a number of shoes. If I stand up for long my foot swells, and if I do wear dress shoes, when I take my shoe off my foot is like a ballon. My foot is not the way it used to be, some of my friends have had the same injury and their foot is back to normal. Also my right heel looks like it is bruised, maybe due to circulation problems. I have spoken to my doctor, hospital, and they have informed me there is nothing I can do apart from put my foot up when im resting.
I would be grateful for any advice, as I am very concerned. Thank you. Tony DCosta.
