arm injury

(2 discussions)

My sister has developed a sunken section in her upper left arm .
She says there is no pain involved and has not heard anything snap or pop. But there is a definite indentation in her upper arm. Any ideas what this is? and how it can be fixed??
She works out consistently with weights but I have not known her to overdo. any ideas

It sounds like what happened to me. The upper bicep tendon has snapped and is gone into the shoulder, thus the drop of the muscle, looking like Popeye. I am ok with it and it does not hurt, in fact I play tennis. As long as she doesn’t overdo it with the weights she should be ok.

She really needs to be seen by an Orthopedist ASAP, and sometimes the tendon can be re-attatched if operated on soon enough after the initial injury. Please keep us posted as to her situation. By the way, her doctor will be able to inform her as to all the pros and cons of having the tendon repaired.
