Arthritis in the Foot

I have arthritis in my left ankle, foot, and toes as a result of a break to the distal tibia almost 5 years ago.
The only shoes I can walk in without pain are my heavy duty hiking boots. I attribute this to the rigid soles and ankle support. Are there any other options for me other than wearing my heavy duty boots all of the time?

I would need to see this before I could say for sure. One possibility is a herniation of the fat pad. Another is a vein that has bled. If you are concerned, I suggest you see a podiatrist.
