Avascular Necrosis Great toe

My 12 year old son has been diagnoised with avascular necrosis of the first metatarsal phalangeat joint of the great toe. I find limited information on this and need your help. He was in a cam walker for 6 weeks and now his only limitation is no soccer or basketball, running or jumping. Can you please help me? Thank you

If you do a search on Google for Avascular necrosis, you can get general reference information. As far as giving you specific information, it is necessary to examine the patient and see a series of x-rays or MRI’s. If you are concerned, please get a copy of the films and get another opinion. Good luck.
