Back Pain during Pregnancy

I am 5 mths pregnant with a small placenta abrubtion and severe lower back pain. Does the method of using muscle stimulation cause a risk of premature labour? My physician believes that it does and suggested I stop all treatments.
She said that the muscles will contract and mislead your body that it is in fact in labour. Can you help me or give any suggestions please.
