bicep injury

hi, I injured my left bicep 2 days ago while working out(hammer curls). there is no swelling but it pains when I bend my arm or turn my wrist. the pain is on the outside of my arm at the bottom of the bicep. can I keep lifting weights or should I rest and excercise my othr muscles(chest, triceps and legs) if not then how long should I wait before hitting the gym.

    I would definately rest this. I would ice the biceps area, and perform gentle stretching to the biceps. I would return to light resistance curls when they can be performed without pain. This should be somewhere between 2 and 6 wks, depending on how badly you injured it. Increase slowly as tolerated. You can contract it isometrically now, as hard as you can without pain, if it can be done WITHOUT pain.
