big toe/chipped bone?

Thanks for reading this.
I got my big toe bumped while moving furniture…. It hurt for a while, then the toe nail came off.
It was not extremely painful, but hurts where the toe was hit.
I’m wondering if the bone may be chipped… It is just at the tip of the toe, on the outer right side of my left big toe, and is above the first joint.
I’m wondering if I should get an xray, or if there is really nothing that can be done with this type of injury.
The injury occured 3-4 weeks ago…
I thought I’d just lose the nail, and that would be all. Now, I wonder if there could be infection??
