bimalleolar fracture
I fell off a ladder May will be 3 years ago and had bimalleolar fracture. I was put in a cast for 6 weeks and then underwent therapy 3x a week for about 3 months. I am still 3 years later experiencing pain when I walk and tingling and pain in my toes. I still have a high impairment level due to limited flexibility. I am told that there is nothing that can be done. I am noticing that a lot of patients are recieving this open reduction plates etc. as treatment. I am wondering if the cast was maybe not my only option for treatment? Is it normal to have such pain for so long after this type of injury? And should I question this other option this late after my injury?
Thanks a million for your help.

There certainly is no harm in getting an opinion aas to what your options are now. I think you owe it to your self. If you can get copies of your previous x-rays, that might help the next doctor you see. Good luck.
