Broken 2nd toe

I broke my second toe (next to my big toe) when I jammed it 6 months ago.
I had it x-rayed and the doctor explained that rather than breaking, the ligament holding the first joint, next to the nail bed, had not given way during the “stubbing” and had actually pulled a piece of bone from the first joint as it had stretched.
It took about 6 weeks to heel, as the doctor had told me, but I have recently noticed that my toe is numb where the bone was displaced (on the side that is next to my big toe).
Is this anything I should be worried about?
It doesn’t “hurt” to walk, but if I bend it just right, it lets me know it’s there.
The toe is quite disfigured, which doesn’t really bother me, but I just wanted to make sure that the numbness wasn’t something I should be worried about.

One possibility is that the sensory nerve in the toe has become trapped in scar tissue. Massage might help break up the scar tissue. You might want to discuss this with your doctor.
