broken clavicle

(2 discussions)

I broke my left clavicle in july of 04, my doctor said I was 100% healed and I went back to work in the middle november. The first week of dec I rolled across my left shoulder and the clavicle refractured in the same spot. My question is this, just because the bones are joined and being held togeather does that mean you are 100% better? doesn’t it take a while for what ever it is that holds bones togeather to harden? the first time I broke it I came down on my shoulder very hard but the second time was not hard at all. The bones never healed end to end they healed over laping eachother. The Only treatment I got was a figure of eight sling. If anyone has an answer for me please send a reply. Thanks

I broke my collarbone on sept. 5. It has been 9 and a half weeks almost 10. I’m not sure if I can go back to play lacrosse which is a contact sport. I can lift heavy objects and weights and I have a free range of motion without any pain at all. I had tripped and fallen a couple weeks ago and nothing had happened. So I don’t know if I should go back and take a hit in sports or not.
