broken clavicle

I am 31 yrs old and broke my right clavicle going 2 mph on a snowmobile. It’s been 7 1/2 weeks, and the bone isn’t together yet. My doctor says it’s just slow healing. I asked him about putting a plate on it to speed up the healing process. He doesn’t want to do surgery. Just wondering if I should get a second opinion. I know that theres not much to do for a broken colar bone for this is the third time I broke it. Broke in half this time the others just fractured. It’s just getting fustrating as there’s still alot I can’t do. If anyone as any opinions It would be helpful..

My little son broke his right clavicle on his birthday this year by falling off a childs garden toy. I am heart broken every time that I think about the pain he is in as he is only 3 years old. I would like someone to tell me how long it will take to heal as I am worried. He is a smaller than average child but all in all pretty healthy.

hi kim,i’ve just broken mine to. the doc. says the one end is too cracked to attach a plate to.how has yours healed? did you go for physio?

hello, my name is TJ soucy I’m from maine and I broke my right clavical and it was about 7 weeks then I re broke it when my 3 year old cuzzin calab jumped on me and I was back in a sling and I couldnt take eney medicine cuzz I’m alergect to codien so I had to deal with all the pain and the guy that looked had us wait for more then 2 hours then when we got in these were his exact words”oooh it looks fine don’t take eney medice it will heal in a couple weeks then we went back in and he said the same thing to me.
