Broken Fibula
Hi,
I have a question? I had a dirt bike accident and broke my fibula. It is broken in the middle between my ankle and knee. It is a clean break. I went to the doctor got x-rays and no cast. He said it was to high up for a cast. This kind of makes sense to me but, He said just to stay off of it and use crutches. And that is it! Is this normal?? Please help.

I personallywould put the patient with this in a cast boot. If the fracture is in perfect alignment and the patient will be non weight bearing on crutches, then maybe no cast is ok.
