Broken pinky toe: recovery period?
I broke my pinky toe before Labor Day weekend. My podiatrist xrayed it, splinted and buddy taped it. It’s slowly been improving (no swelling, no more bruising after 5 weeks). He did another xray this weekend, and the break (non displaced) is beginning to fill in. I still cannot put full weight on my foot, and still have moderate pain if I’m not careful when moving around. He told me recovery time is about 6 weeks, but I don’t think I’ll be fully healed by next Friday! How long do you think it will be before everything’s healed and I’m pain-free? Thanks…

Everything you have said is within reason, but the 6 week assumption that everyone is healed by then is a myth. Realistically, how can you tell an 80 year old the same time for healing as a 20 year old? People all vary in their health, circulation, level of activity, needs and wants, and very importantly the ability to deal with pain.
