Broken Seismoid Bone

I broke the seismoid bone in my right foot over a year ago.
I now use orthodic inserts in my shoes.
However, I still feel limited when I engage in athletic activity.
Are there any surgical options I should be aware of to heal the bone without the need for orthotics?

Many tiomes the sesamoid will develop into an asymptomatic non-union. As far as surgery, there are different opinions regarding this and it depends on which sesamoid is broken. Discuss your concern with the orthotics with your doctor. Perhaps they can be adjusted or modified or remade.
