broken tailbone

i broke my tailbone delivering my first child 5 years ago. I didn’t know why I was in so much pain until my doctor told me when he examined me a month later. it healed so that it was bent going straight back inside me. it rebroke when I delivered my second child almost 4 years ago, healing the same wrong way. I just rebroke it again, painting a few months ago when I hopped right on the end of a chair. It still healed wrong, probably in and up. i’m now expecting to have another baby- breaking my tailbone again. is there anything to prevent this again or make it easier? ( i’ve had an x-ray, seen a chiroprachter, he tried to reset it after it broke this last time- it was several days after, so he thought it may allready be setting up, but it was bent way up and in, and so loose it would just go back up when he would let go.) I realize there may not be anything I can do to fix it, but I sure would love to be a little more comfortable atleast! the ring-shaped pillow with a hole in the middle does not help @ all. someone just let me borrow a wedge-shaped pillow that has a small cut-out in the back,(where you’re tailbone goes), it was given to her and i’m trying to find another one, do you have any ideas? i’de appreciate any new ideas/help!!!

Hi, Rachel. I understand. Here’s my story Anyway, I got pregnant not long after…and my tailbone broke a 2nd time. Again…went back to the D.O. to have it reset…About a year later, I fell down the stairs outside as they were icy. Yep! You guessed it, I broke it a 3rd time. The D.O. reset it…Another year went by and I got pregnant again…and sure enough…my tailbone broke a 4th time… My D.O. moved and no one has been willing to reset my tailbone again. However, I did go to an acupuncturist and do you know what?? She helped alleviate the pain!!! YES!!Unfortunately, now, I don’t have insurance and my husband is in school full-time. I can’t afford her, so I haven’t been in awhile…and last night for the first time in a long time… I woke up with tailbone pain… I really suggest you go to a “respected” acupuncturist in your area. Definitely get recommendations from physical therapists, etc. in your area.Hope this helps. You can email me if you [email protected]: I broke my tailbone delivering my first child 5 years ago.
