Broken Toe?

Hi,
Last week, I tripped over my husband’s chain saw case (containing chain saw) that he left in the middle of the garage floor.
When I caught my toe on the hard plastic case, the pain was almost unbearable.
About five minutes later, the toe was numb.
The next day the toe was black and red (not very much swelling), but I was able to walk around although there was some pain.
This week, the colors have subsided and the pain is gone, but it still feels like the bone is not connected.
What do you think?
Did I break it?
And could it still be broken?
