Bruised foot
My elderly mother fell and bruised the entire top of her left foot.
She had it x-rayed and nothing was broken – and it was improving, but yesterday she wrapped it in warm wet cloths repeatedly and last night it had turned much darker blue and was extremely painful she couldn’t put any weight on it.
Were the warm cloths a bad idea?

Without seeing her, I can’t tell you for certain. I would recommend you call the doctor who evaluated her and have them take another look at her foot. It is difficult to guess what is going on.
