I play in a flag football league and I bruised my ribs back in September and they are still quite sore.
How long does it generally take for bruised ribs to heal.
I went to the er in october and was instructed to take 800 mgs of ibuprofen. However I still have to work. The work I do is not all that physical, but I just want the pain to go away. I can’t work out. or even run for a bus! please advise.

I fell this morning and hit the right side of rib cage. Other than ibuprophen is there anything else to ease the pain and speed healing?

It hurts when I twist or bend. Is this a sign of something is wrong? How do I get the pain to go away?

I broke my ankle and at the Dr. office my husband had to lift me up on the table and we did it hug type and my rib got hurt. What can I do to make it less painful. It hurts to take deep breaths and move. Thank you, please advise

DUDE DOES anyopne follow up on these, shows you why cancer is a 8 billion doller buisnees a year. Doctors are sensoreds aint they. Don’t give a sensored about sensored. Dad died with cancer. Can honestly say I don’t thinkone doc gave a sensored. But Yea I just have a real s light can’t even see a bruise rib too. Got it like fri night fuvking fighting a little. And this pain seemd to worsen as the days go bye?????? But not bad. But I’m woundering if its ever gona heal. Becuase it’s a tiny bruise and its wed now so almost aweek latter and its irritating as sensored. And I have a sorre back too.

I recently fell heavily against a door handle in my apartment. Bruised ribs On my experience, you can expect…1 day: completely immobile1 week: taking the doctor’s megapainkiller tablets and no improvement2 weeks: taking the doctor’s megapainkiller tablets and a wonderful improvement3 weeks: with a little pain doing everything you do and still taking paracetamol4 weeks: not taking paracetamol but still feeling uncomfortable (like someone is standing on your chest all the time)5 weeks: you can forget taking the paracetamol but now and again you get a twinge6 weeks: back to normal 🙂 Normal service resumed 🙂

I am a 68 year old female, 5’3″, 165 pounds with history of severe back pains, scoliosis, etc., driving a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer, hit the back of a Suburban at approx 55mph. Six hours on a body board with a collar, several sets of x-rays indicated nothing broken. Taking Ibuprofen 800mg 3x/day, skelaxin 800 mg, 2x/day, black and blue, large sections, from under chin to groin. Pain and bruising now going around to the left back. I shake, I hurt, cannot cough or sneeze or take a deep breath. When can I expect some relief without the meds? Also emotional problems as I continue to drive, fearful….etc/ Any answers or reply? Thank you so much.

I went 4-wheeling 2 weeks ago and fell off on my left side and I believe I bruised my ribs. It hurts to lift myself up off of the ground from my left side using my arm, it hurts to breathe deep, sneeze, cough, and lay on that side. How long will this pain persist

ON August 28th I was in a boat accident, andwas airlifted to a trauma center – severely brusied ribs, but no broken bones. I go back to work the last week in September. I am a music teacher of young children. I would like to know in general how long will it take for my ribs and back to heall and the pain to go away. Obviously everybody is different. I also want to know what therapies, althernative or traditional would be most beneficial for faster healing. BEnding and lifting is very difficult-

I slipped and fell onto my ribs 10 days ago, they hurt pretty badly when I did it then they started to get a bit better, however the pain is now in the the back all the time and the front when I breath, sneeze, laught etc and a mild ache all the time. I think I may have cracked my ribs before as I couldn’t breath properly for 3 months after falling on them in a bike crash and they left a pain in my back then, the new back pain is in the same place as before, is there anything a doctor can do or will they just advise leaving it for a bit? Whats the best pain killer I can get for them?

I fell and hit my under part of my breast and I believe my ribs under the breast. Hit it in a wooden bar as I fell. Have badly brused breast and some lower brusing on my side,Don’t know if it’s accutally brused ribs but the pain in standing or sitting, breathing deeply, or bending over to pick something up off the floor just takes my breath away it hurts so bad. What does this sound like to you? Brused or broken??
