Bruises Under Toenails
(2 discussions)
I am a Scottish Highland dancer and we have to wear shoes that are very tight fitting for competition. The goal is to buy the shoes 1 size too small to accentuate pointing. As a result, I have bruises under both of my big toenails. I have had this problem before and had to have a toenail removed. I was wondering if you could tell me what I can do to prevent this, and help the bruises heal faster.Sincerely,AnonomysP.S. I was told to keep toenail polish off, which is another reason I want this to heal quickly. In the summer time, who wants to walk around in flip-flops with big ugly bruises! Thank you so much for your time!!

I'm sorry, but I do not have a solution for your problem. Wearing shoes too small is the obvious cause of the bruising. Once ther bruise is there, I don't know that there is something that will make you heal faster, especially if you continue to wear these shoes.
