Bruising on side of right foot & leg/knee pain

I awoke during the night, my right foot, leg, and knee were severly hurting.
This occured over 3 weeks ago, and I still having severe pain in right leg – now going towards the left leg/knee.
However, my right side of right foot is severely bruised.
My heel is black.
I am wearing appropiate shoes.
The heel doesn’t hurt as bad as the right side of right foot – area between small toe and heel.
I have been soaking my feet each night.
This only removes pain for a short period of time – only a few min.
Please explain what this could possibly be.
