I have a bulging disk from C3-C6 (kyphosis in same region), producing ventral impression and narrowing severely the spinal canal. It is producing attrition to the spinal cord.Surgery is probably inevitable. The question is, what type of surgery would you recommend? Preferably one with little recovery time.

I have been diagnosed with a cervical C5-6 bulging disk. After a car accident 12-9-02 the disc is now herniated. What is the diffrence? When does surgery become necessary. Does there have to be cord compression before surgery is necessary? What is the tests and criteria that have to be done before I should allow a cervical decompression and spinal fusion?
