Bulging disk, Scoliosis, pinched nerves

(3 discussions)

I am 32yrs old.
I have had back problems since I was 12. I was recently diagnosed with MRI and other test that I have a bulging disk in my neck, and two others beginning to pucker (as the doctor called it) in my lower back where I also have the presence of scoliosis (diagnosed at 9yrs of age) I was basically told there is nothing I can do outside of surgery (disk decompression) When the disk are irritated, inflamed or what ever is going on, it causes severe numbness in my left arm, the bone seems to be throbbing…and I can hardly hold anything(I am left handed so this is major handicap) Is there anything I can do that would aleviate the discomfort and help to speed up the recovery process?

I also have a bulging disk in my neck (C5,6) and scoliosis. At this time, my physical therapist has recommended traction and ice. If I were in the shape you’re in though, my doc would probably put me in surgery – she told me about another patient of hers that was dropping stuff that she rushed into surgery, and is no longer having any trouble. Good luck.

I was hit by a car (while walking) in a parking lot. I don’t remember being hit-but as a result, I have had tremendous neck/upper back pain. I had x rays and a MRI. I hhave a bulging disk and my Dr. is sending me to a neurologist, because I was hit in June and had been seeing a chiropractor and was not getting better. What should I expect?
