Bump on top of instep
(2 discussions)
I have a large bump on my foot, top of instep, not under. My feet hurt, and walking is tireing.
I have had it for years, but it is bothering me more now. Sometimes I wrap it with an ace bandage. It seems to help a little. Can you tell me what this may be? I’m thinking of seeing a podiatrist. I have never been to one.before.
Thanks for any reply.Samore

Without seeing your foot I can't say for sure. One possibility is that you could have a ganglion. Another is what we call a metatarsal cuneiform exostosis. This is a bony spur that develops over time, mostly in a high arch foot. I agree that you should see a podiatrist for further evaluation.
