bunionectomy

Hi,
I had a bunionectomy of my right foot on 1/7 and a redo of the same foot on 2/1 due to trauma. It has been about 7 weeks since my last surgery and I am having occasional sharp pain in my big toe joint. It’s as if the bone is rubbing together when I’m walking or make a sudden move. I have told my podiatrist about this and she thinks its because I have still have deep swelling. She doesn’t seem concerned at all and has not taken an xray since the 3rd or 4th week. Also my big toe does not touch the floor when I’m standing. My toe also looks like it is turning towards my second toe slighlty more than it had been since the surgery was initially done. I have been doing the toe excercises but they haven’t seemed to help me at all. My toe is still very stiff. Am I being to anxious? Am I concerned for no reason? I would appreciate any information to help ease my concerns. Thanks in advance.

You need to discuss your concerns with your doctor. Ask about getting another x-ray. Tell your doctor about how your post op progress is going.
