Bunionectomy
I am a self pay, un-insured, in need of a bunionectomy. I have ben quoted by the local Podiatrist: $700 surgery, $725 anestheologist, and $2,100 for the room to do it at the “Surgery Center”. Is this in line? Do some Podiatrists do this type of surgery in their offices, avoiding an expensive surgery center? Thanks

The short answer is yes, sometimes. There are a great deal of variables here which I can't answer. The type of bunion surgery indicated, type of anesthesia etc.You might try calling or emailing a state or local Podiatric Medical Society or Association for further guidance.
