The bottom of my feet is contantly bruning, mainly the ball of my feet. I wear Dr. Scholl mole skin daily to relieve the pressure. Please advise if collegan injections will help?
They did say that is was not severely displaced. They wrapped in Ace bandage, gave him crutches and he is to stay off until DR. visit. Thanks for your quick reply. AND thanks for the FYI on Podiatrist.
This may be strictly the prference of the reating doctor. Some may use a removeable cast boot. Other, if the patient is suspected to be non compliant, will be put in a cast.Unfortunately, this type of fracture has a poor track record for healing.
my daughter who is activate in sports has a jones fracture which has been in a casst 8 weeks now the last xray 2 weeks ago show no healing and he put her back in a cast for 3 more weeks is this normal for her not to be healing she is almost 16 years of age we go back on nov 2 to see if it is not healed what do u reccommed I do
I recommend you and your daughter write down your questions. You might do a Google search about Jones fractures. Unfortunately, there is a high rate of non-union due to the particular position of the circulation in this area. It is possible that after a greater length of time that healing can occur. You should have a discussion with the doctor about the options. In the interim, I think you should do what the doctor has suggested-wait. Good luck.
That depends on how bad the fracture is, and how he was treated. If there is a great deal of swelling and they put him in a posterior splint and told him to remain on crutches, that is probably ok until you see your doctor. FYI Podiatrists treat this injury as well as orthopedists.
yes I recently sent you a statement on my daughter and her jones fracture she went back to the dr and still has 3 more weeks which will make her 11 weeks it was half way healed but my question is her being active and not being able to lately could this cause her to have headaches not gettin to exercise

Should I expect a hard cast (knee or full) or a walking cast?
