Burning Feet!

Hi there,I’ve recently developed this sensation in my feet, at night and rarely during the day, that makes them feel as if they are incredibly hot and results in this semi burning-tingling-pins feeling.
I usually end up washing them in cold water to temporarily alleviate the discomfort.My dad has had this same problem for a few decades now, and he wakes up 2-3 times a night to wash his feet in cold water.
Any ideas and suggestions?
