Burning Foot after injury
(2 discussions)
I injured my foot a week ago Saturday.
There is severe bruising on the sides of the foot, and moderate bruising under the arch.
X-Rays show no broken bones.
I have elevated my foot, and applied ice, and have used espom salt soaks.
Now after I get out of bed, putting pressure on the foot causes me pain, and then my foot starts burning.
The doctor gave me a dose of 800 mg or ibropfen, but it doesn’t seem to help.
Do I need to go back for another x-ray, or what can I do to relieve the pain?

R.I.C.E. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. You might use crutches to take the weight off. Just because no bones appear broken does not mean there is no injury. Soft tissue hurts too. I recommend you avoid heat (epsom salt soaks) That increases swelling.

Thank you. I guess my question is why my foot burns. When I put my hand on it, I can feel the burning on top of my foot.
