burning on top of foot

I have had a burning pain in my second and third toe and upwards to my ankle for over a week.
It bothers me more at night.
I had surgery on that foot 2 years ago for a bunion removal and a hammer toe.
Could that be related?
I cannot take asprin or motrin because I am on a blood thinner.
Any suggestions?
