Burning pain in foot

(4 discussions)

When I point my toe (like a ballerina) I have a burning pain in a line from just below my ankle down through my big toe. It also hurts to press on the foot anywhere along that line. The pain is only in the left foot and I did not injure it.
Ordinary walking doesn’t hurt, nor does going up or down stairs. Any ideas?
Thank you.

I have the smae symptoms. The “burn” is on the top of my foot when I point my foot down like a ballerina. Also, with my foot pointed like this, if I flex my toes up I get a repeat of the burn. I liken it to somebody plucking a guitar string. -Karen

I have the same thing. Did you ever find out what it is?

You did not state if the pain is on the top or bottom of your foot. Without an examination, I can’t be real specific. It might be either a nerve entrapment or a tendonitis. You should see a podiatrist for further information.
