Burning Toes

(6 discussions)

last summer I started getting this burning in my toes, I do a lot of walking at work, and when I went to my Dr for a physical, he asked me to raise my left leg, when I did I got this pain down my left side, through my hip and down my leg, he then asked if my toes burned and I said yes, he never did anything further, is this a problem with my Cyatic nerve? I also cannot get up if I lay on any hard surface, like an X-ray table because of the pain I get

The orthopedic test the Dr. performed is called a strait leg raiser. It is a test for sciatica and it seems as though you had a positive response. There are a lot of other things to consider. Your doctor is performing the right tests and I sure has a good idea of the source of your pain (sciatic nerve).Chiropractic student 6 months away from the end of my 8-9 year education 4 undergrad 4.5 grad school.

My toe next to the big toe has been burning so badly that it has even peeled like a sunburn on several occasions. It also swells twice it size when it burned so bad it peeled. My toes burn 24/7 and the only way I can go to sleep is take a bottle of ice to bed and let my toes rest on it. Also during the day I have a pair of jell footies that I keep in the freezer and I put my toes on them. This has been going on for about six years, and have been to several Dr. and have been tested for diabities and several other thing. I really need help, but don’t know where else to go. I do hope you can help.

I cycle alot and do a lot of walking, I have tried all kinds of socks etc. I have on my cycle I have tried all sorts of pedals thinking this was the problem of burning toes but obviosly not. My foot doctor prescribed cotton or wool socks, still the same. I have tried gel, vaseline you nsme it everything and still the burning. There are time I have to dismount and look for a water butt and immerse my feet as it is so sore I cannot walk. My doctor has done tests and says I am not diebetic, please can someone help as I enjoy my pursuits

I have had a similar problem. This could be related to a B12 deficiency. Try taking a B12 supplement (or a completed balanced B supplement). Allow around 30-60 days for this to work. Also, I would suggest an addition of 1000 mg of vitamin C per day. There is a known condition where plaque builds up in the arteries and causes nerve damage in the extremities. Studies have shown that large amounts of Vitamin C can dissolve certain types of plaque (as well as thicken the walls of veins and arteries.) In any case, neither practice will cause harm.

I have constant burning of the pads of my toes no matter what kind of sock & shoe I wear. May start after a little or extended walking period. I need some advice on what may be causing this.
