bursitis of left hip

Received a cortizone shot for this problem last Tues.
I realize that cortizone shots don’t last forever.
I have always walked and done low impact exercise. Lately, this causes pain for which I sought medical help.
Hence the shot.
What else can I do to prevent reoccuring of this problem? Thank you
