I am a 32-year-old woman who is getting back into running after having my third child, born nine weeks ago. Even before I delivered (when I wasn’t running yet) I was experiencing pain and tightness in my right calf, on the inside and just below the knee. I have since started running and am experiencing the same calf pain, along with pain on the inside of my right knee and my right hamstring. The pain is there whether I am running or not. I am an experienced runner, having been a collegiate distance athlete, but am obviously just getting back into shape. I have tried rest, ice, and ibuprofen, but none of these remedies have helped much. What do you suggest?
