Cardio with Ankle Sprain?


I have been on a mission to loose weight and get in shape. Unfortunately, this morning I sprained my ankle while playing Basket ball. I was wondering if there is any exercises I can do while my ankle is healing? The bike? Weight lifting machines? Anything??? Thank you


  1. It does’nt make any sense to do exercises that involve force through the foot. Focus on upper exercise machines. I would stay off the bike, stair stepper, aerobics classes for now. There are lot’s of things you can do with uppers, back and abs until you heal. If you want a more aerobic benefit from weight machines…go light with the weights with lots of reps and get your heart rate going. Good luck, M Scott PT
