Cervical Spondylosis & Weight Training

I have just been diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis.
I was so stunned that I didn’t ask my doctor if I can still work out with weights at the gym.
I read that low-impact aerobics are acceptable but can’t find any information about weight training.Thanks.
