It is common to have discomfort after foot surgery. It really is too soon for you to expect a final result. Your doctor should ( or should have) discussed the post op period with you. If you are not clear on this, please discuss this with your doctor.

I had the same operation on July 13th and I am 47 years old. I didn’t have much pain at all 3 days after the surgery. My toe joint is still stiff and my doctor said it will be about 3 months before I have full use of the joint, but the pain from the bone spurs is gone. The first 3 days after surgery I kept my foot elevated and kept ice on the foot. I wear only flat shoes and plan to do that for about 3 months until a bit of swelling over the joint goes down. My doctor also told me that swelling is normal for about 6 weeks. Some discomfort is to be expected and go easy on the affected foot and try not to do too much walking on it. I don’t have any pain at all when I walk wearing flat shoes. Good luck!
