Chiropractor or Orthopedics surgeon

(2 discussions)

I have a question that no one has ever answered. I have degenative disc disease in my neck and lower back. I had surgery in 1983 by a orthopedic surgeon, I ask him if a chiropractor could help me and he said no! I have spinal stenosis in my neck now(my arms hurt). I go to the Crystal Clinic in Akron Oh.and this orthopedic surgeon said no chiropractor but he could do a cervical fusion! I take “Bextra 20mg” every days so I can function and go on with my life. I would like to know your side of the story and why Orthopedics surgeons don’t want me to see a Chiropractor? Thanks Elsie Jarvis

was ran over by a truck on June 14, 2013. I was seen by East Texas Medical center and they did x-rays of my leg and nothing was broken. Two weeks later my leg and knee swelled up 4 times the size it normally is. I went to the ER and the doctor drained 2 litters of yellow drainage with a slight red tinge color to it. My knee remained swollen and then 4 days later it was huge again. I went back to the ER and again they drained a lot of clear yellow fluid. I then saw a Orthopedic Surgeon and that thought that I had a ML tear and that there was no need to continue draining it that the knee would keep filling up with fluid and that the only thing that would correct it is to have surgery. I also had an utrasound of it to check the artery and vein circulation and that was good but it did show fluid. I had an MRI and it showed a hematoma. A doctor from the hospital called me and said that the hematoma would probably resolve on its own. In the meantime my leg is still 4 times its normal size and my calf and foot keep swelling. They said there was no tear. However the doctor did not have my chart in front of him so he couldn’t tell me exactly what was going on. He said I would need to come in on Wed. to talk to the doctor. I do not understand how come they have drained clear yellow fluid from my knee twice and never did hardly any blood come out. Why does it keep filling up with fluid if nothing is torn. I haven’t had it drained again since 1 1/2 almost two months ago but it keeps tightening up. The MRI only showed a hematoma not any fluid. What will they do about this? Will they do surgery to remove the hematoma and find out why my leg is huge, numb and gets worse when I am on it. The area where it is the skin is so tight there is no where for anything to go but down to my ankles. It hurts to walk because my feet are swollen also. Can you please help me uncerstand what is going on. I have seen about 15 doctors for it and when they first see it that are in shock. Kelly

: I have a question on my knee. I tore my acl a year ago, and then started playing soccer after surgery and rehab. The about like 9 months after my surgery I hyperextended my knee or quad and then it hurt for a couple of days then it was fine. Well now when I try to workout the quad muscles in my leg are not growing and not responding to lifting. One of my legs is bigger than the other. Only my hamstrings respond to weight training but my quads on my right side of my body don’t seem to get sore, or grow. Now after long periods of running I feel kind of a sharp pain in my knee or the front of my quads. Please email me back with a response,to what you think it might be, thank you.
