Dear Martha, It is within the scope of practice for a Chiropractor to apply his technique directly to your skin. I do believe there are certain ways to remain professional while this type of activity occurs. A professional of any type should always inform you of what they are doing and make sure you are in agreement with it. If you feel that he was unprofessional you can file a complaint with his state Chiropractic Board. Please make sure his intentions were improper, because a complaint can be very damaging to someone that maybe doesn’t deserve it. Thanks for the question.
What is a chiropractor and what is his scope of practice. what about a physiotherapist? do you think the would reffer a massage therapist and what for?
