chondromalacia
Several yrs ago I was diagnosed with a softening of the kneecap. I was told to do some exercises and that was all. Is there any exercises that are better than others? Does anyone have any insight on the best way to deal with this? My knee is getting worse.

How old are you?Chondromalacia is due to softening of the cartilage like surface on the back of the kneecap. Straight leg raises, short arc knee extensions, rest from painful activties, ie. squats, running, stairs, prolonged sitting or knealing, can help. Ice and antiinflamatories can help also. Ride a stationary cycle. A neoprene knee sleeve can also help real well. Get it at a local drug store or pharmacy.
